  Linda-Maree Drake  

I grew up in Hawkes Bay, in a family of seven. I started my career as a Medical Receptionist and then went on to train as a Registered Nurse.  I took time out of my career to have our four children, with all of our kids being educated at Roto-O-Rangi school prior to us moving on to a small rural block on the opposite side of Cambridge seven years ago.  I returned to Nursing, focusing my career at that stage in Critical and Intensive Care at Waikato Hospital until 2010.


In 2011 I moved from the hospital into our own Hamilton based human resource / employment relations consulting company, primarily focused on developing the business although I also worked with clients in many aspects of their people practices – including recruitment and policy and procedure development.


Opportunities then arose for me to work in two of our client businesses for the next 2 years to enable me to enhance my business management capabilities. In 2016 I completed my MBA (Masters in Business) at Waikato University providing me with the confidence to take on this new venture.


Since commencing at Fegan’s my medical knowledge has proven extremely useful in helping me to understand many aspects of animal care and husbandry such as mastitis, AI, calving, lame cows, nutrients and dietary requirements. I have felt welcomed into the industry by people I have made connections with, including many offering me the opportunity to come and work on their farms to gain a greater knowledge of the industry.  I believe my range of skills will bring a fresh approach and new insights into the rural sector, as the sector adapts and changes with the introduction of environmental regulations, Health and Safety and the many other HR issues now impacting on recruitment including drug free employees.

  Russell Drake

Russell grew up in Canterbury in a family of four boys.  He moved to Hawkes Bay, via Nelson were he commenced an apprenticeship in his teens working in the automotive trade for 12 years. Linda-Maree and Russell met, married and commenced their family before moving up to Auckland to study with our two young daughters in tow, where after 6 years he qualified with Honours in Industrial Psychology.


In my final year of study I was offered a position with Deloittes in Hamilton commencing my career in the human resource and employment relations sector. After stints as HR Manager of Kinleith Pulp and Paper Mill, Director of Staples Rodway and then General Manager of a large truck franchise I moved to McCaw Lewis assisting them to restructure their business before starting my own consultancy business in April 2010.


Six months later we had the opportunity to purchase the Waikato consulting licence for the Employers and Manufacturers Association (EMA). Along with Linda-Maree we have built a very strong consulting practice, where we only represent Employers in all HR/ER issues, providing legally compliant, yet practical solutions for our clients. We have an extensive client base working across many sectors, and now joining with Fegan’s we already share almost 70 common clients within the rural and agribusiness sector. 


  Lyn Bayes

Originally a city girl from Adelaide Lyn moved to New Zealand 18 years ago after meeting her now husband.  Together they run a successful dairy farm operation.

When Lyn first moved to the Waikato she had absolutely no exposure to farming – so she set about the steep learning curve – not holding back and ensuring that she has kept up to speed with all facets of the Industry.  Most recently Lyn has been studying towards her Diploma in Agribusiness.

With both of her children attending school in Cambridge this year Lyn was ready for a new challenge.

  Raewyn Risi  

Raewyn grew up in the Waikato and moved back in 2000 shedding the city for life on a dairy farm.  With 3 children becoming more independent it was time to head back into the work force and Fegan and Co presented the ideal opportunity.


Raewyn enjoys the challenges of office and finance administration and is the first point of contact in the office and on the phone.

  Dave Garmonsway  

Dave has a passion for the dairy industry and the contribution it has made and will continue to make to NZ Inc. He has a degree from Massey University and has a strong Strategic and Commercial background obtained with the likes of LIC and a number of Fletcher Companies.


He understands the importance and benefit of ensuring the right fit between employers and employees at both a technical and a cultural level and gets a buzz when both parties are happy with the recruitment outcome.


In his spare time you will either find him at a local pool, following the black line having recently competed in the World Masters Games in swimming or hanging over the side of a boat untangling the birds nest from his fishing line.

  Rose McVeagh

Originally from Auckland, Rose has been living in Hamilton for many years and is a converted Waikato fan. She has a good general knowledge of dairy farming and relevant HR practices, having worked in the industry for a period of time.

Rose commenced her HR career in the retail sector and has since provided HR advice in several sectors including hospitality, entertainment, logistics and tertiary education. 

Having worked for many years in the commercial sector, Rose has experience with Recruitment, Learning & Development, Health & Safety, Performance Management and advising on general HR Policy and Practice. She has strong experience in Employment Relations and is passionate about managing conflict situations.
